Premier Li Qiang will visit North Korea for a three-day trip starting Thursday to attend events marking the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea. The visit makes him the most senior Chinese official to travel to Pyongyang since 2019.
During the visit, Li is expected to attend a military parade and hold talks with North Korean leaders to strengthen bilateral ties. Both nations aim to deepen cooperation in political, economic, and strategic areas, reinforcing their longstanding partnership as close neighbours.
The Chinese government emphasized that the visit reflects Beijing’s commitment to advancing its relationship with Pyongyang and enhancing communication and collaboration between the two countries.
