Loong Air has inaugurated a new direct flight route connecting Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in China with Taichung International Airport in Taiwan. This development marks the airline’s debut in offering cross-strait services. The newly introduced route is scheduled to operate twice weekly, with flights departing every Tuesday and Saturday, enhancing travel connectivity between southwestern China and central Taiwan.
The launch of this route is significant as it strengthens the travel links between the two regions, providing more options for travelers. With the addition of the Chengdu route, Taichung International Airport now boasts a total of 31 operating or announced routes. Among these, 20 are regular services, while the remaining 11 are charter routes.
Chengdu’s inclusion as a destination from Taichung International Airport adds to the list of cities in mainland China that are directly connected to Taichung. Currently, Taichung serves scheduled flights to Nanjing and Qingdao, in addition to the newly introduced Chengdu route.
