China has expressed its commitment to enhancing security cooperation with African nations, aiming to bolster regional peace and support economic stability, according to Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun. Speaking at the 4th China-Africa Peace and Security Forum held in Beijing on Thursday, Dong emphasized the longstanding defense partnerships between China and African countries, which are grounded in mutual support and shared security interests.
The forum, attended by military representatives and diplomats from the African Union and 41 African countries, served as a platform to address security challenges and explore avenues for deeper collaboration. Dong highlighted that the cooperation between China and Africa in security matters significantly contributes to both regional peace and global stability. He advocated for ongoing partnerships that are founded on equality and mutual benefit.
