China’s top diplomat, Wang Yi, has called on Japan to address what Beijing considers inappropriate remarks and actions by Japanese officials regarding Taiwan. During a meeting in Beijing with Takeshi Iwaya, president of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade, Wang emphasized the need for Japan to adopt a more objective and rational stance toward China.
Wang highlighted the importance of maintaining the political foundation of China-Japan relations, urging Japan to handle historical issues with care and caution. He pointed out that Japan should remain steadfast in its commitment to peaceful development and avoid actions that might escalate tensions between the two nations.
Takeshi Iwaya acknowledged the concerns over the current state of relations between Japan and China. He expressed that his organization is dedicated to fostering dialogue and supporting stable bilateral ties.
